Heavy Hitter Okra is a fairly new strain of highly productive, branching okra, developed by, Ron, and Josh Cook, of Dry Creek Farm.  Dry Creek Farm was first Certified Organic in the summer of 2008 and has continued organic farming practices ever since.  We worked all our fields here with a team of mules and Haflinger garden ponies until the Spring of 2013; never owning a tractor until that time.

Botanical name: Abelmoschus esculentus,  heavy hitter okra was painstakingly developed from the old Clemson Spineless variety that won the coveted AAS Award in 1939, carrying on all the traits that made Clemson Spineless America's #1 best-selling okra, yet Heavy Hitter is a huge improvement over the old Clemson Spineless variety, in that it produces as much as 10X more okra per plant, due to multiple, prolific, fruiting branches.
